Hi, I'm Eurila Cave, the owner and primary photographer for Cali York Photography. Born in the famous Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California to a writer/actress mother and photographer/writer father the summer of 1979. We lived in Oakland until migrating east in 1986. Brooklyn, New York has been home ever since. The "we" includes my little brother Spec Boogie (internationally acclaimed rap artist). Since a little girl; Ive been obsessed with photography. Cameras, lens, flashes, strobes, aperture, shutter speed and depth of field. All words I was friends with by the time I was 9yrs old. I am a magazine hoarder. I love hanging contrasty black and whites in jazzy gold frames, I love taking photos of my toes and love my family with all my heart.
I love human beings. I love being human. The human element is the most interesting subject in nature; so naturally portraits of people are what I do best. I follow the careers of and are inspired by awesome photographers such as Matthey Jordan Smith, Robert D. Cave,Sr. ,Gordon Parks, Annie L., David E. Jackson, Joe McNally, Jonathan Mannion, and Zach Arias. Sort of a tomboy and a curious kid I was always being called mischevious and still hear it today. I'm a Gemini. That's all I'm going to say about that. My clients have been fabulous families to state officials, beauty makers to hip hop royalty. My images grace the homes of many, have been exhibited nationally, published locally and adored worldwide. Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little bit.
